VALA hires a diverse pool of practicing artists from all cultural backgrounds who have the sophistication and personal experience to teach young children to make and view art in complex, intricate, and intuitive ways. This diversity contributes significantly to our programs since the student population of the East Bay is so varied. VALA artists are working professionals with a dedication to their art. This sense of commitment and persistence is communicated to the children, in addition to any art skills learned.
